Barnet and Southgate College use services they host in from their own datacenter, including Exchange and SharePoint, and cloud services such as Office 365. To protect all workloads using a single sign on with multi-factor authentication, we helped them implement Azure MFA, as part of the Enterprise Mobility + Security Suite.
The past few years have seen the online world for sports clubs revolutionised, and the Northampton Saints have adapted to this by tailoring its output to meet current needs and anticipate future developments. The scale and flexibility to respond to the demands of fans on match days is a key reason why Azure is an important part of the Saints web platform.
Barnet and Southgate College wanted to enable their staff to access the intranet from anywhere, on any device, but needed to ensure documents were kept secure, even outside of SharePoint. We integrated Azure Rights Managment with their on premise SharePoint 2013 farm, to give staff a seamless way to securely share documents with external partners, while IT can ensure all documents are under control.

With this in mind, the University of Northampton engaged with Fuse to manage the implementation of Microsoft System Center 2012 R2
As part of Northamptonshire County Council, the Registrations Service provide the facilities for citizens to register a Birth or Death, Notice of Marriage, Notices of Marriages held ‘Out of County’, Notice of Civil Partnerships and a Nationality Checking Service.

Northamptonshire County Council were looking for a hosting company who would manage their SharePoint 2013 sites, along with SharePoint 2007 sites whilst migrating them to 2013. In addition, as a long term plan, LGSS (Local Government Shared Services, who NCC are part of) are looking to build their own hosting environments and move their hosting back into an on-premises environment. This needed to also be considered when deciding on a hosting provider.
Choosing a hosting solution suitable for NCC’s needs was quite a simple task. Being a Microsoft Azure partner and having worked successfully with other customers to build large-scale SharePoint farms on Azure, we found the reliability, features and flexibility surpass that of any hosting environment we had come across. We were therefore able to advise the customer why it may be beneficial to switch to Azure.
The Northants find me a family service is a child adoption portal built on SharePoint 2013, and hosted in Microsoft Azure. It uses the Azure multi-factor authentication service to secure access to registered users, along with a secure video hosting service to ensure material cannot be removed from the site. Developed alongside our wider SharePoint 2013 projects for Northamptonshire county council, the site includes a number of features designed to make the site accessible on all devices, using our unified content management framework.

Fuse Collaboration has developed a secure data collection web application for local governments. This application is designed to replace paper-based forms which are sent to council suppliers/providers for the collection of statutory/financial information, by collecting the information through a secure website. For example, the application’s first use was for the regular collection of childcare provider information.
Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire County Councils have established a shared services partnership to provide common back-office services in an effort to reduce costs. To facilitate this working partnership, a collaboration solution was required that enabled employees from both organisations (and future partners) to work together securely. Having already built an internal collaboration solution using SharePoint for NCC, we advised them it would be relatively simple and cost effective to extend their SharePoint farm to an extranet topology.
A long standing client of Fuse Collaboration wanted a system that was able to publish and maintain an employee handbook, whilst being able to service the day-to-day HR queries of 4500+ employees.
Northamptonshire County Council’s hosting agreement for their internet, intranet & Community Portal sites had connectivity, reliability and performance-related issues. They informed us that they were looking to move away from their current providers by the end of the contract.
Fuse Collaboration completed an end-to-end SharePoint farm solution, from hardware installation, to production support, at the UK headquarters of a large defence manufacturer. Initially supporting some 400 team-based workers, this model of SharePoint farm could support a wide range of organisations, providing both high performance and availability. This is how we built the farm, and how the customer used the new features.
Our client felt that the existing ‘out of the box’ SharePoint search features were inadequate for their requirements. They needed enriching to enhance the end user/customer searching experience. As a governmental organisation our client had to meet stringent accessibility guidelines for their web presence. This meant that web parts could not be used without applying complicated techniques to resolve their accessibility issues.
Internet usage on mobile devices is a massive growth area and whilst SharePoint does provide an ‘out of the box’ solution that caters for collaboration sites, the user experience for publishing sites (intranet and public sites) is limited and lacks an engaging interface. This in turn increases the chance of the user browsing away from the site. For that reason we were engaged by Northamptonshire County Council to create a secondary website tailored for mobile devices.
We discussed our client’s requirements and analysed their existing systems. Our client was familiar with SharePoint 2010 as they use it for their Intranet so it made sense to utilise this platform for their website also.
