Role Description

The purpose of this role is to actively lead and manage our Infrastructure and Software Development Teams in developing, implementing and supporting solutions for our clients. The role will encompass people, project and potentially product management. The role will also involve liaising with Fuse's existing clients and working with our sales team to establish new business and strategy.

Desired Skills and Experience


  • 2 years team leadership experience
  • 5 years previous development experience in all or some of the following;
    • .Net (C# preferred)
    • SharePoint 2010/2013
    • Web Development (HTML/CSS/Javascript/ASP.Net/jQuery/AJAX)
    • Web Design (Photoshop or similar)
    • GUI/Front End Design
    • Web Accessibility
    • Mobile Development (Mobile Web/iPhone/Android)
    • Database Technologies (SQL Server, Reporting)
    • XML/XSL
    • WCF/Silverlight
    • Team Foundation Server/Source Control/Team based development
    • Active Directory
    • Windows Server 2008/2012
    • Microsoft Office (advanced use)
  • 5 years previous Infrastructure experience in all or some of the following;
    • SharePoint
    • Cloud solutions (IAAS, PAAS, SAAS)
    • Security, Authentication and Compliance
  • Full software development, testing and project lifecycle experience
  • Successful track record of leading teams through the delivery of complex projects on-time and within budget (including outsourced partner working)
  • Experienced in process improvement and governance
  • Strong commercial experience background, ideally from an IT Consultancy perspective
  • Excellent man-management skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of software development best practice
  • Experience in training and mentoring team members
  • Carrying out staff 1 to 1's and appraisals

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manages team and leads product design and infrastructure/development activities that meet or exceed defined customer requirements; identifies and resolves technical issues at a high‐level and helps team assess design requirements and how to execute
  • Monitors and supervises day‐to‐day activities of the teams including technical design, work breakdown, code reviews, unit testing, launch plans and overall ownership of schedule, quality and budget
  • Encourages individual and team efforts to innovate around product design and development
  • Communicates the technical vision and leads assigned team through the project process, leveraging resources from multiple locations, including outsourced teams
  • Recognises design or development deficiencies and implements effective solutions
  • Communicates the value of and enforces sound engineering design process and quality practices, software estimation, coding standards, technical documentation standards, QA processes, build, continuous integration and configuration management;
  • Manages compliance to standard policies and procedures
  • Develops and maintains detailed software engineering and plans and resource allocation
  • To assist with support work where required
  • To provide technical documentation when required
  • To perform development/consultancy work on and off site
  • To carry out activities as detailed in the SLA for clients
  • To assist with scoping and quotations including pre-sales and customer meetings
  • Input into the company's strategy plans and roadmaps
  • Improve efficiencies by automation and process implementation
